Toa, mladunče kita orke koje je dirnulo javnost otkako se nasukalo na obali Novog Zelanda, uginulo je nakon uzaludnih potraga za majkom, objavili su u subotu ekolozi, a prenose agencije.

Mladunče starosti od četiri do šest mjeseci, dugačko 2,5 metra, osvanulo je na naslovnicama pošto se nasukalo blizu glavnoga grada Wellingtona.

Bilo je odvojeno od tzv. "škole", kako se nazivaju skupine kitova, prije dva tjedna u nepoznatim okolnostima, piše agencija AFP.

Stotine volontera pokušavalo je skrbiti se za njega bez prekida jer mladunče nije sposobno preživjeti samo. 

Ekolozi su ga nazvali Toa, što znači "ratnik" na maorskom jeziku, smjestili su ga u posebno osposobljen bazen te hranili svakih četiri sata posebnim uređajem.

Istodobno su tekle potrage za njegovom majkom flotom letjelica i promatrača koja je pretražila stotine milja obale.

Organizacija Whale Rescue objavila je da se Toino zdravstveno stanje brzo pogoršava noću na petak.

"Veterinari su učinili sve što su mogli, ali nisu ga uspjeli spasiti", navodi se u priopćenju. 

"Moramo izvijestiti da je malo prije Toa uginuo", navodi organizacija i dodaje: "Kao što možete i zamisliti, shrvani smo", prenosi Reuters.

Volonteri su se nadali da će mladunčetu, ako mu ne pronađu majku, naći drugu "školu".

Skupine kitova orka nisu neuobičajena pojava u luci Wellington kamo stižu u lovu na raže.

Toa, mladunče kita orke koje je dirnulo javnost otkako se nasukalo na obali Novog Zelanda, uginulo je nakon uzaludnih potraga za majkom, objavili su u subotu ekolozi, a prenose agencije.

Mladunče starosti od četiri do šest mjeseci, dugačko 2,5 metra, osvanulo je na naslovnicama pošto se nasukalo blizu glavnoga grada Wellingtona.

Bilo je odvojeno od tzv. "škole", kako se nazivaju skupine kitova, prije dva tjedna u nepoznatim okolnostima, piše agencija AFP.

Stotine volontera pokušavalo je skrbiti se za njega bez prekida jer mladunče nije sposobno preživjeti samo. 

Ekolozi su ga nazvali Toa, što znači "ratnik" na maorskom jeziku, smjestili su ga u posebno osposobljen bazen te hranili svakih četiri sata posebnim uređajem.

Istodobno su tekle potrage za njegovom majkom flotom letjelica i promatrača koja je pretražila stotine milja obale.

Organizacija Whale Rescue objavila je da se Toino zdravstveno stanje brzo pogoršava noću na petak.

"Veterinari su učinili sve što su mogli, ali nisu ga uspjeli spasiti", navodi se u priopćenju. 

"Moramo izvijestiti da je malo prije Toa uginuo", navodi organizacija i dodaje: "Kao što možete i zamisliti, shrvani smo", prenosi Reuters.

Volonteri su se nadali da će mladunčetu, ako mu ne pronađu majku, naći drugu "školu".

Skupine kitova orka nisu neuobičajena pojava u luci Wellington kamo stižu u lovu na raže.
