Kakve tajne krije duboka unutrašnjost zemlje istražuju mnogi znanstvenici. Jedan od njih je Hrvoje Tkalčić, hrvatski znanstvenik svjetskoga glasa, profesor na Australskom nacionalnom sveučilištu u Canberri i član američkog seizmološkog društva. Objavio je desetke znanstvenih radova, a posljednje istraživanje odvelo ga je na rub Antarktike. HRT ga je pitao, naravno, i za potrese u Hrvatskoj i njihove posljedice.

Ekspedicija postavljanja 27 seizmografa u hladni ocean na dubinu od 5 kilometara uz vrlo jake vjetrove bila je, kaže Hrvoje Tkalčić, geofizičar i redoviti profesor na Australskom nacionalnom sveučilištu u Canberri, pothvat ravan slijetanju na drugi planet. Ipak skupa i često opasna istraživanja ključna su za razumijevanje mehanizma nastanka potresa.

- Seizmografi će na oceanskom dnu biti oko godinu dana. Oni će bilježiti potrese i lokalne i vrlo daleke potrese, a i druge geofizičke fenomene - objasnio je Tkalčić.

Ovakvi i slični podaci jednog bi dana čovječanstvu mogli omogućiti mirniji san uz pomoć umjetne inteligencije.

- Ona ide u tom smjeru da će se jednog dana potresi moći predvidjeti, ali se to sigurno neće moći dogoditi bez ulaganja i znanost i tehnologiju koja će se trebati razvijati do te mjere da ćemo možda morati postavljati na tisuće ili milijune senzora na svaki rasjed u unutrašnjosti zemlje - rekao je Tkalčić.

Rođeni Bjelovarčanin s australskom adresom pozorno prati potrese u Hrvatskoj. Kaže da će još neko vrijeme biti podrhtavanja, ali da će se tlo s vremenom smiriti. Za rupe, odnosno urušne vrtače, kaže da nastaju iznenada, ali i protiv njih, kaže, ima lijeka.

- Postoje metode u eksporacijskoj i forenzičnoj geofizici koje su strahovito skupe, ali koje bi se eventualno mogle primjeniti i izVesti dronovima i mogle bi detektirati pukotine i prazne prostore u podzemlju - smatra Tkalčić.

No uz sve nedaće, potresi imaju i pozitivnu stranu.

- Da nema te dinamike ne bi bilo ni magnetskog polja ni tektonskih sila ni tektonike ploča. Dakle spržila bi nas radijacija iz svemira, ne bi bilo ni oceana ni atmosfere pogodne za život. Ukratko - život na zemlji bi bio nemoguć - uvjeren je Tkalčić, javlja HRT.

Kakve tajne krije duboka unutrašnjost zemlje istražuju mnogi znanstvenici. Jedan od njih je Hrvoje Tkalčić, hrvatski znanstvenik svjetskoga glasa, profesor na Australskom nacionalnom sveučilištu u Canberri i član američkog seizmološkog društva. Objavio je desetke znanstvenih radova, a posljednje istraživanje odvelo ga je na rub Antarktike. HRT ga je pitao, naravno, i za potrese u Hrvatskoj i njihove posljedice.

Ekspedicija postavljanja 27 seizmografa u hladni ocean na dubinu od 5 kilometara uz vrlo jake vjetrove bila je, kaže Hrvoje Tkalčić, geofizičar i redoviti profesor na Australskom nacionalnom sveučilištu u Canberri, pothvat ravan slijetanju na drugi planet. Ipak skupa i često opasna istraživanja ključna su za razumijevanje mehanizma nastanka potresa.

- Seizmografi će na oceanskom dnu biti oko godinu dana. Oni će bilježiti potrese i lokalne i vrlo daleke potrese, a i druge geofizičke fenomene - objasnio je Tkalčić.

Ovakvi i slični podaci jednog bi dana čovječanstvu mogli omogućiti mirniji san uz pomoć umjetne inteligencije.

- Ona ide u tom smjeru da će se jednog dana potresi moći predvidjeti, ali se to sigurno neće moći dogoditi bez ulaganja i znanost i tehnologiju koja će se trebati razvijati do te mjere da ćemo možda morati postavljati na tisuće ili milijune senzora na svaki rasjed u unutrašnjosti zemlje - rekao je Tkalčić.

Rođeni Bjelovarčanin s australskom adresom pozorno prati potrese u Hrvatskoj. Kaže da će još neko vrijeme biti podrhtavanja, ali da će se tlo s vremenom smiriti. Za rupe, odnosno urušne vrtače, kaže da nastaju iznenada, ali i protiv njih, kaže, ima lijeka.

- Postoje metode u eksporacijskoj i forenzičnoj geofizici koje su strahovito skupe, ali koje bi se eventualno mogle primjeniti i izVesti dronovima i mogle bi detektirati pukotine i prazne prostore u podzemlju - smatra Tkalčić.

No uz sve nedaće, potresi imaju i pozitivnu stranu.

- Da nema te dinamike ne bi bilo ni magnetskog polja ni tektonskih sila ni tektonike ploča. Dakle spržila bi nas radijacija iz svemira, ne bi bilo ni oceana ni atmosfere pogodne za život. Ukratko - život na zemlji bi bio nemoguć - uvjeren je Tkalčić, javlja HRT.

Drugima riječima - s potresima treba naučiti živiti. I dobro i sigurno graditi.

Kakve tajne krije duboka unutrašnjost zemlje istražuju mnogi znanstvenici. Jedan od njih je Hrvoje Tkalčić, hrvatski znanstvenik svjetskoga glasa, profesor na Australskom nacionalnom sveučilištu u Canberri i član američkog seizmološkog društva. Objavio je desetke znanstvenih radova, a posljednje istraživanje odvelo ga je na rub Antarktike. HRT ga je pitao, naravno, i za potrese u Hrvatskoj i njihove posljedice.

Ekspedicija postavljanja 27 seizmografa u hladni ocean na dubinu od 5 kilometara uz vrlo jake vjetrove bila je, kaže Hrvoje Tkalčić, geofizičar i redoviti profesor na Australskom nacionalnom sveučilištu u Canberri, pothvat ravan slijetanju na drugi planet. Ipak skupa i često opasna istraživanja ključna su za razumijevanje mehanizma nastanka potresa.

- Seizmografi će na oceanskom dnu biti oko godinu dana. Oni će bilježiti potrese i lokalne i vrlo daleke potrese, a i druge geofizičke fenomene - objasnio je Tkalčić.

Ovakvi i slični podaci jednog bi dana čovječanstvu mogli omogućiti mirniji san uz pomoć umjetne inteligencije.

- Ona ide u tom smjeru da će se jednog dana potresi moći predvidjeti, ali se to sigurno neće moći dogoditi bez ulaganja i znanost i tehnologiju koja će se trebati razvijati do te mjere da ćemo možda morati postavljati na tisuće ili milijune senzora na svaki rasjed u unutrašnjosti zemlje - rekao je Tkalčić.

Rođeni Bjelovarčanin s australskom adresom pozorno prati potrese u Hrvatskoj. Kaže da će još neko vrijeme biti podrhtavanja, ali da će se tlo s vremenom smiriti. Za rupe, odnosno urušne vrtače, kaže da nastaju iznenada, ali i protiv njih, kaže, ima lijeka.

- Postoje metode u eksporacijskoj i forenzičnoj geofizici koje su strahovito skupe, ali koje bi se eventualno mogle primjeniti i izVesti dronovima i mogle bi detektirati pukotine i prazne prostore u podzemlju - smatra Tkalčić.

No uz sve nedaće, potresi imaju i pozitivnu stranu.

- Da nema te dinamike ne bi bilo ni magnetskog polja ni tektonskih sila ni tektonike ploča. Dakle spržila bi nas radijacija iz svemira, ne bi bilo ni oceana ni atmosfere pogodne za život. Ukratko - život na zemlji bi bio nemoguć - uvjeren je Tkalčić, javlja HRT.

Drugima riječima - s potresima treba naučiti živiti. I dobro i sigurno graditi.
