Dva ribara iz Australije nedavno su helikopterom prebačena u bolnicu nakon što ih je ubola jedna od najotrovnijih meduza na svijetu dok su bili daleko na pučini. Njih dvojica bili su na brodu koji je od obale mjesta Dundee Beach bio udaljen oko 19 kilometara. Prema izvještaju portala 7News, ubola ih je meduza Irunakdji (Irukandji jellyfish).

Postoji 16 poznatih vrsta Irukandji meduza, koje su sve endemske vrste koje žive u dubokim vodama oko sjeverne Australije. Otrov svake od ovih sićušnih meduza može izazvati Irukandjijev sindrom — iznimno bolan i potencijalno smrtonosan skup sindroma.

Nije jasno koja je vrsta ubola dvojicu ribara, ali većinu slučajeva Irukandji sindroma uzrokuje Carukia barnesi, ako je suditi po izvještajima Nacionalnog centra za biotehnološke informacije (NCBI). Vrsta je duga samo oko dva centimetra, ali je jedno od najotrovnijih morskih stvorenja, piše Live Science.

Dvojica muškaraca su iz svog broda helikopterom prebačena u bolnicu, iz koje su otpušteni 48 sati kasnije. Očekuje se da će se potpuno oporaviti.

Simptomi Irukandji sindroma uključuju jezive bolove u mišićima leđima, glavobolju, mučninu, povraćanje, tjeskobu, probleme s disanjem i srčani zastoj. Iako se većina ljudi potpuno oporavi, postoje slučajevi u kojima ljudi nastavljaju osjećati bol i do godinu dana kasnije. Prema Službi hitne pomoći Queenslanda (QAS), simptomi se mogu pojaviti već pet minuta nakon uboda. Ne postoji protuotrov, a stručnjaci preporučuju da odmah polijete mjesto uboda octom.

U prosjeku, svake godine u Australiji bude prijavljeno između 50 i 100 slučajeva Irukandji sindroma. Većina slučajeva događa se ljeti kada toplije vode i jaki vjetrovi guraju meduze na površinu i prema kopnu, ali se bolni susreti događaju i tijekom ostatka godine, prenosi Jutarnji list.

Dva ribara iz Australije nedavno su helikopterom prebačena u bolnicu nakon što ih je ubola jedna od najotrovnijih meduza na svijetu dok su bili daleko na pučini. Njih dvojica bili su na brodu koji je od obale mjesta Dundee Beach bio udaljen oko 19 kilometara. Prema izvještaju portala 7News, ubola ih je meduza Irunakdji (Irukandji jellyfish).

Postoji 16 poznatih vrsta Irukandji meduza, koje su sve endemske vrste koje žive u dubokim vodama oko sjeverne Australije. Otrov svake od ovih sićušnih meduza može izazvati Irukandjijev sindrom — iznimno bolan i potencijalno smrtonosan skup sindroma.

Nije jasno koja je vrsta ubola dvojicu ribara, ali većinu slučajeva Irukandji sindroma uzrokuje Carukia barnesi, ako je suditi po izvještajima Nacionalnog centra za biotehnološke informacije (NCBI). Vrsta je duga samo oko dva centimetra, ali je jedno od najotrovnijih morskih stvorenja, piše Live Science.

Dvojica muškaraca su iz svog broda helikopterom prebačena u bolnicu, iz koje su otpušteni 48 sati kasnije. Očekuje se da će se potpuno oporaviti.

Simptomi Irukandji sindroma uključuju jezive bolove u mišićima leđima, glavobolju, mučninu, povraćanje, tjeskobu, probleme s disanjem i srčani zastoj. Iako se većina ljudi potpuno oporavi, postoje slučajevi u kojima ljudi nastavljaju osjećati bol i do godinu dana kasnije. Prema Službi hitne pomoći Queenslanda (QAS), simptomi se mogu pojaviti već pet minuta nakon uboda. Ne postoji protuotrov, a stručnjaci preporučuju da odmah polijete mjesto uboda octom.

Dva ribara iz Australije nedavno su helikopterom prebačena u bolnicu nakon što ih je ubola jedna od najotrovnijih meduza na svijetu dok su bili daleko na pučini. Njih dvojica bili su na brodu koji je od obale mjesta Dundee Beach bio udaljen oko 19 kilometara. Prema izvještaju portala 7News, ubola ih je meduza Irunakdji (Irukandji jellyfish).

Postoji 16 poznatih vrsta Irukandji meduza, koje su sve endemske vrste koje žive u dubokim vodama oko sjeverne Australije. Otrov svake od ovih sićušnih meduza može izazvati Irukandjijev sindrom — iznimno bolan i potencijalno smrtonosan skup sindroma.

Nije jasno koja je vrsta ubola dvojicu ribara, ali većinu slučajeva Irukandji sindroma uzrokuje Carukia barnesi, ako je suditi po izvještajima Nacionalnog centra za biotehnološke informacije (NCBI). Vrsta je duga samo oko dva centimetra, ali je jedno od najotrovnijih morskih stvorenja, piše Live Science.

Dvojica muškaraca su iz svog broda helikopterom prebačena u bolnicu, iz koje su otpušteni 48 sati kasnije. Očekuje se da će se potpuno oporaviti.

Simptomi Irukandji sindroma uključuju jezive bolove u mišićima leđima, glavobolju, mučninu, povraćanje, tjeskobu, probleme s disanjem i srčani zastoj. Iako se većina ljudi potpuno oporavi, postoje slučajevi u kojima ljudi nastavljaju osjećati bol i do godinu dana kasnije. Prema Službi hitne pomoći Queenslanda (QAS), simptomi se mogu pojaviti već pet minuta nakon uboda. Ne postoji protuotrov, a stručnjaci preporučuju da odmah polijete mjesto uboda octom.
