Orke, poznate i kao "kitovi ubojice", potopile su jedrilicu koja je plovila između Španjolske i Maroka, što je posljednji u nizu učestalih "napada" na brodice zabilježenih od ljeta 2020. i prvi u kojem je brodica završila potopljena.
Jedrilica "Grazie Mamma II" potonula je tijekom spašavanja posade u Gibraltarskom tjesnacu 31. listopada, izvijestila je preko društvenih mreža poljska kompanija Morskie Mile.
Ta kompanija specijalizirana za turistička putovanja javila je o prvom potonuću neke brodice u tim vodama uslijed udara orki.
"Jedrilicu je napalo jato orki. Udarale su kobilicu za usmjeravanje brodice tijekom 45 minuta, nanijevši ozbiljnu štetu i rupe na trupu", priopćila je Morskie Mile.
Kapetan jedrilice je zatim nazvao spasilačku službu.
"Kapetan, posada, spasilačka služba i pripadnici marokanske mornarice nastojali su odvući oštećenu jedrilicu u luku Tanger Med, no ona se potopila na ulazu u luku", dodala je kompanija.
Posada jedrilice se neozlijeđena i zdrava vratila u Španjolsku.
Takvo ponašanje orki intenziviralo se od ljeta 2020. u vodama Španjolske i Portugala, a znanstvenici nastoje objasniti taj fenomen.
Eva Chiara Carpinelli, predsjednica udruge Nereide, koja prati kretanja orki i kitova na prijelazu iz Sredozemnog mora u Atlantski ocean, kaže kako orke ne napadaju ljude.
"To se dogodilo jedino kada su im ljudi htjeli oduzeti slobodu, kada bi ih pokušali zarobiti", napominje Carpinelli u španjolskom primorskom gradiću Tarifa ispred kojeg često plivaju orke.
Jata orki migriraju prolazeći kroz tamošnje vode u kojima je zadnjih godina sve gušći brodski promet.
"Brodovi koji prolaze, a pri tome ne poštuju udaljenost od orki, te im smetaju, predstavljaju opasnost za te životinje", napominje Carpinelli.
U Španjolskoj je potrebno pridržavati se zakonom utvrđenog propisa o približavanju. Udruga Nereide brine ondje o zaštiti okoliša, očuvanju životinjskih i biljnih vrsta, te podučava o tome djecu u školama.
"Najveća opasnost za orke, kao i sve kitove, su zagađenje mora, klimatske promjene, pomorski promet i njihovo zarobljavanje", upozorava Carpinelli.
Morski biolog Bruno Díaz, direktor istraživačkog centra u sjevernom gradu Pontevedri, kaže da se orke naprosto nekada samo igraju.
"Zabavljaju se nauštrb posade jedrilica. Kormilo se pomiče pa zbog toga pod morem izaziva najviše pozornosti. Orkama je stoga ono najzanimljivije i najdostupnije tijekom te njihove zabave, koja završi lomom kormila", objašnjava.
Jedrilicama su u mnogim slučajevima bila slomljena kormila.
CIRCE, organizacija za proučavanje i informiranje o kitovima, surađuje sa španjolskim ministarstvom ekološke tranzicije oko orki.
Ta organizacija skuplja podatke o kretanjima orki, pa svaki tjedan objavljuje kartu, koja se zatim dostavlja moreplovcima kako bi se smanjio rizik od susreta s njima

Jedrilica "Grazie Mamma II" potonula je tijekom spašavanja posade u Gibraltarskom tjesnacu 31. listopada, izvijestila je preko društvenih mreža poljska kompanija Morskie Mile.
Ta kompanija specijalizirana za turistička putovanja javila je o prvom potonuću neke brodice u tim vodama uslijed udara orki.
"Jedrilicu je napalo jato orki. Udarale su kobilicu za usmjeravanje brodice tijekom 45 minuta, nanijevši ozbiljnu štetu i rupe na trupu", priopćila je Morskie Mile.
Kapetan jedrilice je zatim nazvao spasilačku službu.
"Kapetan, posada, spasilačka služba i pripadnici marokanske mornarice nastojali su odvući oštećenu jedrilicu u luku Tanger Med, no ona se potopila na ulazu u luku", dodala je kompanija.
Posada jedrilice se neozlijeđena i zdrava vratila u Španjolsku.
Takvo ponašanje orki intenziviralo se od ljeta 2020. u vodama Španjolske i Portugala, a znanstvenici nastoje objasniti taj fenomen.
Eva Chiara Carpinelli, predsjednica udruge Nereide, koja prati kretanja orki i kitova na prijelazu iz Sredozemnog mora u Atlantski ocean, kaže kako orke ne napadaju ljude.
"To se dogodilo jedino kada su im ljudi htjeli oduzeti slobodu, kada bi ih pokušali zarobiti", napominje Carpinelli u španjolskom primorskom gradiću Tarifa ispred kojeg često plivaju orke.
Jata orki migriraju prolazeći kroz tamošnje vode u kojima je zadnjih godina sve gušći brodski promet.
"Brodovi koji prolaze, a pri tome ne poštuju udaljenost od orki, te im smetaju, predstavljaju opasnost za te životinje", napominje Carpinelli.
U Španjolskoj je potrebno pridržavati se zakonom utvrđenog propisa o približavanju. Udruga Nereide brine ondje o zaštiti okoliša, očuvanju životinjskih i biljnih vrsta, te podučava o tome djecu u školama.
"Najveća opasnost za orke, kao i sve kitove, su zagađenje mora, klimatske promjene, pomorski promet i njihovo zarobljavanje", upozorava Carpinelli.
Morski biolog Bruno Díaz, direktor istraživačkog centra u sjevernom gradu Pontevedri, kaže da se orke naprosto nekada samo igraju.
"Zabavljaju se nauštrb posade jedrilica. Kormilo se pomiče pa zbog toga pod morem izaziva najviše pozornosti. Orkama je stoga ono najzanimljivije i najdostupnije tijekom te njihove zabave, koja završi lomom kormila", objašnjava.
Jedrilicama su u mnogim slučajevima bila slomljena kormila.
CIRCE, organizacija za proučavanje i informiranje o kitovima, surađuje sa španjolskim ministarstvom ekološke tranzicije oko orki.
Ta organizacija skuplja podatke o kretanjima orki, pa svaki tjedan objavljuje kartu, koja se zatim dostavlja moreplovcima kako bi se smanjio rizik od susreta s njima
