Struna je najosjetljiviji dio udičarskog pribora, oštećuje se i slabi brže od ostalih dijelova, pa je zato treba češće i mijenjati od ostale opreme. No, koliko često?

Kratak i precizan odgovor na to pitanje nije moguće dati, jer trajnost strune, kao i njezine ostale karakteristike, ovise o vrsti, uvjetima upotrebe, održavanju tijekom korištenja, te dužini i načinu skladištenja.

Opsežna stručna istraživanja o toj temi nedavno je završila najveća udruga ribolovaca u SAD-u. Evo njihovih rezultata i preporuka kako produžiti vijek trajanja strune.

Štetno sunce

Od najviše rabljenih plastičnih struna najdulji vijek trajanja ima PE višenitka, kojoj 8 do 10 godina nakon izrade značajnije ne slabe karakteristike. Kod fluorougljičnih (FC) taj period je oko 7 godina, a kod najlonskih samo 3 do 5 godina.

Razlog zbog kojeg i nikad upotrijebljene strune traju samo toliko su kemijski procesi u struni koji ne prestaju njezinom izradom, već se nastavljaju i s vremenom slabe karakteristike struna.

Na brzinu slabljenja najveći utjecaj imaju temperatura, vlaga i ultravioletni (UV) dio spektra sunčeve svjetlosti. Zato strune ne treba izlagati visokim i niskim temperaturama, maloj vlažnosti i jakome svjetlu.

Najlonske strune, koje su najčešće rabljene i najosjetljivije, najduže će trajati u saharskim uvjetima između 35 i 40 stupnjeva Celzija, pri vlazi od 5 do 15 posto, izvan dosega sunčevih zraka. Slično je i s FC te PE strunama.

Da bi je što duže koristili, treba kupovati što mlađu strunu. Nažalost, na pakiranjima struna nema datuma proizvodnje, a pri kupovini je teško znati koliko dugo i u kakvim je uvjetima ona skladištena. No, na to može ukazati stanje pakiranja.

Ne treba kupovati strunu u izlizanom, mehanički oštećenom ili izblijedjelom pakiranju, a prednost treba dati struni spakiranoj u kartonsku kutiju, jer je ona bolje štiti od štetnog djelovanja UV zraka i ekstremnih temperatura nego prozirna plastična. Najbolju zaštitu struna ima ako je u hermetički zatvorenoj kesi od aluminijske folije.

Vijek trajanja struna koje se koriste znatno je kraći od navedenih. Ponajprije zbog oštećenja nastalih habanjem u dodiru strune s dnom, raslinjem i ostalim podvodnim preprekama. Najviše se ošteti prvih nekoliko desetaka centimetara strune, najbliže mamcu. To zahtijeva povremeno podrezivanje i uklanjanje oštećenih dijelova.

Habanje se može ograničiti i usporiti redovitim održavanjem strune. Nakon ribolova strunu je dobro oprati u običnoj ili vodi s malim postotkom deterdženta za suđe. Tako će se ona očistiti od prljavštine i masnoće, ali i osvježiti i navlažiti. Nakon toga će brže tonuti i dalje odbacivati.

​Korištenje skraćuje život

Osim zbog habanja, povremeno dio strune uz mamac treba ukloniti i zbog intenzivnog korištenja ili učestalog velikog naprezanja do granice pucanja strune. Poslije svake takve situacije dobro je ukloniti dva do čak pet metara strune ispred mamca kako ona ne bi pukla u idućoj takvoj situaciji.

Istraživanja su pokazala da je vijek trajanja višenitne PE strune između jedne do dvije godine, ako se ona učestalo koristi. Kada se umjereno koristi vijek joj je dvije, a tri godine kad se njome povremeno lovi.

Najlonsku strunu treba mijenjati nakon četiri do šest mjeseci, ako se koristi intenzivno. Nakon godinu dana treba je mijenjati, ako se umjereno ili povremeno koristila. No, to se može produžiti na dvije godine, ako se struna kvalitetno održava i čuva.

Optimalan vijek trajanja fluorougljične strune je pola godine kada se koristi intenzivno. Tri puta dulje traje kada se koristi umjereno, a dvije godine ako se samo povremeno koristi. Pravilnim održavanjem i skladištenjem to se može produžiti na tri godine.

Mnogi udičari umjesto namotavanja nove, zbog uštede preokreću staru strunu, što se ne preporučuje osim kada je u pitanju skupa PE višenitka. Istina, kraj strune koji je bio na dnu kalema sigurno je u boljem stanju od onoga uz mamac, ali je bez dvojbe i slabiji nego dok je bio nov. Osim toga, ne uštedi se puno, a preokretanje za posljedicu ima povećanje uvrtanja strune.​

Struna je najosjetljiviji dio udičarskog pribora, oštećuje se i slabi brže od ostalih dijelova, pa je zato treba češće i mijenjati od ostale opreme. No, koliko često?

Kratak i precizan odgovor na to pitanje nije moguće dati, jer trajnost strune, kao i njezine ostale karakteristike, ovise o vrsti, uvjetima upotrebe, održavanju tijekom korištenja, te dužini i načinu skladištenja.

Opsežna stručna istraživanja o toj temi nedavno je završila najveća udruga ribolovaca u SAD-u. Evo njihovih rezultata i preporuka kako produžiti vijek trajanja strune.

Štetno sunce

Od najviše rabljenih plastičnih struna najdulji vijek trajanja ima PE višenitka, kojoj 8 do 10 godina nakon izrade značajnije ne slabe karakteristike. Kod fluorougljičnih (FC) taj period je oko 7 godina, a kod najlonskih samo 3 do 5 godina.

Razlog zbog kojeg i nikad upotrijebljene strune traju samo toliko su kemijski procesi u struni koji ne prestaju njezinom izradom, već se nastavljaju i s vremenom slabe karakteristike struna.

Na brzinu slabljenja najveći utjecaj imaju temperatura, vlaga i ultravioletni (UV) dio spektra sunčeve svjetlosti. Zato strune ne treba izlagati visokim i niskim temperaturama, maloj vlažnosti i jakome svjetlu.

Najlonske strune, koje su najčešće rabljene i najosjetljivije, najduže će trajati u saharskim uvjetima između 35 i 40 stupnjeva Celzija, pri vlazi od 5 do 15 posto, izvan dosega sunčevih zraka. Slično je i s FC te PE strunama.

Da bi je što duže koristili, treba kupovati što mlađu strunu. Nažalost, na pakiranjima struna nema datuma proizvodnje, a pri kupovini je teško znati koliko dugo i u kakvim je uvjetima ona skladištena. No, na to može ukazati stanje pakiranja.

Ne treba kupovati strunu u izlizanom, mehanički oštećenom ili izblijedjelom pakiranju, a prednost treba dati struni spakiranoj u kartonsku kutiju, jer je ona bolje štiti od štetnog djelovanja UV zraka i ekstremnih temperatura nego prozirna plastična. Najbolju zaštitu struna ima ako je u hermetički zatvorenoj kesi od aluminijske folije.

Vijek trajanja struna koje se koriste znatno je kraći od navedenih. Ponajprije zbog oštećenja nastalih habanjem u dodiru strune s dnom, raslinjem i ostalim podvodnim preprekama. Najviše se ošteti prvih nekoliko desetaka centimetara strune, najbliže mamcu. To zahtijeva povremeno podrezivanje i uklanjanje oštećenih dijelova.

Habanje se može ograničiti i usporiti redovitim održavanjem strune. Nakon ribolova strunu je dobro oprati u običnoj ili vodi s malim postotkom deterdženta za suđe. Tako će se ona očistiti od prljavštine i masnoće, ali i osvježiti i navlažiti. Nakon toga će brže tonuti i dalje odbacivati.

​Korištenje skraćuje život

Osim zbog habanja, povremeno dio strune uz mamac treba ukloniti i zbog intenzivnog korištenja ili učestalog velikog naprezanja do granice pucanja strune. Poslije svake takve situacije dobro je ukloniti dva do čak pet metara strune ispred mamca kako ona ne bi pukla u idućoj takvoj situaciji.

Istraživanja su pokazala da je vijek trajanja višenitne PE strune između jedne do dvije godine, ako se ona učestalo koristi. Kada se umjereno koristi vijek joj je dvije, a tri godine kad se njome povremeno lovi.

Najlonsku strunu treba mijenjati nakon četiri do šest mjeseci, ako se koristi intenzivno. Nakon godinu dana treba je mijenjati, ako se umjereno ili povremeno koristila. No, to se može produžiti na dvije godine, ako se struna kvalitetno održava i čuva.

Optimalan vijek trajanja fluorougljične strune je pola godine kada se koristi intenzivno. Tri puta dulje traje kada se koristi umjereno, a dvije godine ako se samo povremeno koristi. Pravilnim održavanjem i skladištenjem to se može produžiti na tri godine.

Mnogi udičari umjesto namotavanja nove, zbog uštede preokreću staru strunu, što se ne preporučuje osim kada je u pitanju skupa PE višenitka. Istina, kraj strune koji je bio na dnu kalema sigurno je u boljem stanju od onoga uz mamac, ali je bez dvojbe i slabiji nego dok je bio nov. Osim toga, ne uštedi se puno, a preokretanje za posljedicu ima povećanje uvrtanja strune.​
