Plin je na brodu vrlo koristan za kuhanje, ali nije baš ugodan suputnik kada je sigurnost ljudi u pitanju. To više što se na svakoj iole većoj brodici nalazi i poneka kanta benzina za pomoćni motor, pa je združena zapaljivost i eksplozivnost nešto o čemu uvijek treba voditi računa, osobito ljeti kad su temperature zraka visoke. Također valja imati na umu da je po cijelome brodu razvedena strujna mreža čije su žice izložene jačoj koroziji zbog morskih uvjeta, a to povećava opasnost od iskrenja.

Kritične točke

Zbog svega toga stalna briga o plinskoj instalaciji iznimno je važna za sigurnost broda i posade, a kritične su točke gumena crijeva i spojevi s gumicama. Crijeva, naime, vremenom propadaju i postaju porozna, a kako su u brodovima mahom skrivena ili slabo vidljiva, početna oštećenja često prođu neprimijećena. Stoga je najbolje jednom u dvije-tri godine izmijeniti dovodno crijevo od boce do kuhala ili štednjaka, pri čemu valja kupovati jedino atestirana crijeva upravo za tu namjenu.

Također je potrebno svake godine promijeniti gumicu na spoju plinskog regulatora i boce, te pregledati bocu radi pravovremnog uočavanja hrđe, osobito s donje strane. Ako je plinska instalacija duža i sadrži metalne cijevi i spojeve, također treba svake godine obaviti vizualnu inspekciju cijeloga sustava radi uočavanja mogućih oštećenja, odnosno promjene boje na spojevima što može biti indikator curenja plina.

Opasna smjesa

Naravno, osim mirisanjem i pažljivim gledanjem puno je sigurnije cijeli sustav provjeriti plinskim elektronskim detektorom koji će upozoriti i na minimalna curenja plina i tako onemogućiti da problem postane veći i opasniji. Takvi detektori mogu se danas kupiti za tristotinjak kuna, a oni jednostavniji u obliku naliv pera preko interneta i za petnaestak eura. Kako bilo, takav je uređaj iznimno korisno imati na brodu, to više što su plinska kuhala u većini plovila u kabini, pa se eventualno curenje plina događa u prostoru gdje ljudi borave, a često i spavaju.

Kažimo na kraju da unatoč predrasudama nijedna plinska boca nije eksplozivna, već je eksplozivna smjesa zraka i plina koja nastane ako plin curi u okoliš zbog neispravnih instalacija. Kada koncentracija postane dovoljno visoka, tada je dovoljna mala iskra da nastane eksplozija i izbije požar, no u takvim slučajevima u medijima se mahom pogrešno piše kako je došlo do eksplozije plinske boce. Kako bilo, ako igdje vrijedi geslo bolje spriječiti nego liječiti, za plin na brodu vrijedi do zadnjega slova.

Plin je na brodu vrlo koristan za kuhanje, ali nije baš ugodan suputnik kada je sigurnost ljudi u pitanju. To više što se na svakoj iole većoj brodici nalazi i poneka kanta benzina za pomoćni motor, pa je združena zapaljivost i eksplozivnost nešto o čemu uvijek treba voditi računa, osobito ljeti kad su temperature zraka visoke. Također valja imati na umu da je po cijelome brodu razvedena strujna mreža čije su žice izložene jačoj koroziji zbog morskih uvjeta, a to povećava opasnost od iskrenja.

Kritične točke

Zbog svega toga stalna briga o plinskoj instalaciji iznimno je važna za sigurnost broda i posade, a kritične su točke gumena crijeva i spojevi s gumicama. Crijeva, naime, vremenom propadaju i postaju porozna, a kako su u brodovima mahom skrivena ili slabo vidljiva, početna oštećenja često prođu neprimijećena. Stoga je najbolje jednom u dvije-tri godine izmijeniti dovodno crijevo od boce do kuhala ili štednjaka, pri čemu valja kupovati jedino atestirana crijeva upravo za tu namjenu.

Također je potrebno svake godine promijeniti gumicu na spoju plinskog regulatora i boce, te pregledati bocu radi pravovremnog uočavanja hrđe, osobito s donje strane. Ako je plinska instalacija duža i sadrži metalne cijevi i spojeve, također treba svake godine obaviti vizualnu inspekciju cijeloga sustava radi uočavanja mogućih oštećenja, odnosno promjene boje na spojevima što može biti indikator curenja plina.

Opasna smjesa

Naravno, osim mirisanjem i pažljivim gledanjem puno je sigurnije cijeli sustav provjeriti plinskim elektronskim detektorom koji će upozoriti i na minimalna curenja plina i tako onemogućiti da problem postane veći i opasniji. Takvi detektori mogu se danas kupiti za tristotinjak kuna, a oni jednostavniji u obliku naliv pera preko interneta i za petnaestak eura. Kako bilo, takav je uređaj iznimno korisno imati na brodu, to više što su plinska kuhala u većini plovila u kabini, pa se eventualno curenje plina događa u prostoru gdje ljudi borave, a često i spavaju.

Kažimo na kraju da unatoč predrasudama nijedna plinska boca nije eksplozivna, već je eksplozivna smjesa zraka i plina koja nastane ako plin curi u okoliš zbog neispravnih instalacija. Kada koncentracija postane dovoljno visoka, tada je dovoljna mala iskra da nastane eksplozija i izbije požar, no u takvim slučajevima u medijima se mahom pogrešno piše kako je došlo do eksplozije plinske boce. Kako bilo, ako igdje vrijedi geslo bolje spriječiti nego liječiti, za plin na brodu vrijedi do zadnjega slova.

- Plinsku bocu treba staviti u spremište gdje je odzračna cijev s izlazom izvan plovila
- Nikada ne montirajte plinsku bocu u gavune povezane s interijerom ili one u kojima je neka strujna instalacija
- Aluminijske boce najbolje su za brod, jer ne hrđaju
- Plinsku instalaciju treba detaljno pregledati svake dvije godine
- Zapamtite da ne eksplodiraju boce, nego plin koji iscuri u prostor
