Prilikom sidrenja od iznimne je važnosti znati koliko je sidrenog lanca, odnosno sidrenog konopa, otpušteno u more, jer o otpuštenoj dužini ponajviše ovisi dobro držanje sidra.
Tako je za sigurno sidrenje potrebno otpustiti konop u dužini od pet dubina na mjestu gdje je sidro spušteno, dok je kod sidrenja lancem dovoljno otpustiti najmanje pola te dužine.
Kako bilo, ako je dubina na kojoj sidro leži 8 metara, valja otpustiti 40 metara konopa ili 20-25 metara lanca, koji je zbog veće sigurnosti postao najčešći izbor nautičara kad je riječ o sidrenju za spavanje.
Bojenje lanca
Ako na brodu ne postoji elektronički mjerač otpuštenog lanca u more (što je vrlo koristan uređaj, ali ne tako čest na našim plovilima), tada prilikom sidrenja valja posegnuti za nekim drugim načinima određivanja dužine otpuštenog lanca u more kako bi se osiguralo kvalitetno sidrenje.
Pomoć predstavlja činjenica da danas većina plovila ima ehosonder, pa dubinu na kojoj leži sidro svi znaju, dok je ostatak posla jednostavna matematika.
Dosta nautičara uzda se prilikom sidrenja u svoj osjećaj, odnosno sposobnost procjene koliko su lanca otpustili u more, no to baš i nije najbolja metoda. Kad je more u pitanju, uvijek je puno bolje biti siguran. Upravo zbog toga, mnogi vlasnici plovila posežu za bojenjem sidrenog lanca (sprejem ili pinelom), na način da svakih 10 metara oboje drugom bojom.

Ta je metoda vrlo učinkovita jer omogućava laku kontrolu broja otpuštenih metara lanca, neovisno o tome broji li se s pramca ili iz kabine na motornim brodicama. No, ima i dvije mane: rastezanje i bojenje teškog lanca nije baš zabavan posao, a nakon godinu-dvije boja se zbog stalnog trenja toliko oguli da je potrebno ponoviti postupak.
Drugi način markacije lanca je kupovnim plastičnim markerima raznih boja koji se lako utisnu među karike lanca, pa nekoliko njih u nizu jedne boje nakon 10 metara, a druge nakon 20, jasno pokazuju koliko je metara lanca u moru.

No, to je jasno vidljivo samo ako se brod sidri s pramca, što najčešće vrijedi za jedrilice na kojima jedan član posade radi sa sidrenim vinčem po naputcima kormilara. Ako se, pak, sidro spušta iz kabine motorne brodice, tada utisnuti markeri nisu baš tako vidljivi, osobito u sumrak, što može otežati ispravnu procjenu dužine otpuštenog lanca.
Vezice za kabele
Kako bi osigurali vidljivije markere dužine lanca koja je u moru, vlasnici brodova posegnuli su za dva vrlo jednostavna i praktična rješenja koja se mogu kombinirati s plastičnim markerima ili koristiti samostalno.
Riječ je, naime, o tome da se na desetome metru lanca na jednu kariku veže čvor tankim konopom žive boje, pri čemu se njegovi krajevi ostave dugima.

Na dvadesetom metru vežu se dva takva čvora u razmaku od desetak centimetara, na tridesetom tri..., što u konačnici omogućava kormilaru da lako kontrolira otpušteni lanac čak i ako je u kabini. Krajevi čvora koji prolaze dok se lanac ispušta dovoljno su, naime, vidljivi i s nekoliko metara udaljenosti.
Suvremenija inačica istog načina označavanja sidrenog lanca je korištenje popularnih vezica za kabele koje se danas mogu kupiti u raznim bojama, pa i onim vrlo živima, poput žute, crvene, jarkozelene...

Njih je još lakše učvrstiti na karike lanca na određenim kontrolnim točkama, a također i lako uočiti ako im se krajevi nakon zatezanja ne podrežu, nego se ostave kao signalni rep.
Potonje dvije metode označavanja jednako se lako i uspješno mogu koristiti i kad se za sidrenje koristi konop.
Recimo na kraju da je za kormilara najvažnije da lako i brzo procijeni koliko je sidrenog lanca otpustio, u čemu mu sve spomenute metode mogu pomoći, a svatko može izabrati onu koja mu se čini najboljom, ili pak kombinirati više njih.

Prilikom sidrenja od iznimne je važnosti znati koliko je sidrenog lanca, odnosno sidrenog konopa, otpušteno u more, jer o otpuštenoj dužini ponajviše ovisi dobro držanje sidra.
Tako je za sigurno sidrenje potrebno otpustiti konop u dužini od pet dubina na mjestu gdje je sidro spušteno, dok je kod sidrenja lancem dovoljno otpustiti najmanje pola te dužine.
Kako bilo, ako je dubina na kojoj sidro leži 8 metara, valja otpustiti 40 metara konopa ili 20-25 metara lanca, koji je zbog veće sigurnosti postao najčešći izbor nautičara kad je riječ o sidrenju za spavanje.
Bojenje lanca
Ako na brodu ne postoji elektronički mjerač otpuštenog lanca u more (što je vrlo koristan uređaj, ali ne tako čest na našim plovilima), tada prilikom sidrenja valja posegnuti za nekim drugim načinima određivanja dužine otpuštenog lanca u more kako bi se osiguralo kvalitetno sidrenje.
Pomoć predstavlja činjenica da danas većina plovila ima ehosonder, pa dubinu na kojoj leži sidro svi znaju, dok je ostatak posla jednostavna matematika.
Dosta nautičara uzda se prilikom sidrenja u svoj osjećaj, odnosno sposobnost procjene koliko su lanca otpustili u more, no to baš i nije najbolja metoda. Kad je more u pitanju, uvijek je puno bolje biti siguran. Upravo zbog toga, mnogi vlasnici plovila posežu za bojenjem sidrenog lanca (sprejem ili pinelom), na način da svakih 10 metara oboje drugom bojom.

Ta je metoda vrlo učinkovita jer omogućava laku kontrolu broja otpuštenih metara lanca, neovisno o tome broji li se s pramca ili iz kabine na motornim brodicama. No, ima i dvije mane: rastezanje i bojenje teškog lanca nije baš zabavan posao, a nakon godinu-dvije boja se zbog stalnog trenja toliko oguli da je potrebno ponoviti postupak.
Drugi način markacije lanca je kupovnim plastičnim markerima raznih boja koji se lako utisnu među karike lanca, pa nekoliko njih u nizu jedne boje nakon 10 metara, a druge nakon 20, jasno pokazuju koliko je metara lanca u moru.

No, to je jasno vidljivo samo ako se brod sidri s pramca, što najčešće vrijedi za jedrilice na kojima jedan član posade radi sa sidrenim vinčem po naputcima kormilara. Ako se, pak, sidro spušta iz kabine motorne brodice, tada utisnuti markeri nisu baš tako vidljivi, osobito u sumrak, što može otežati ispravnu procjenu dužine otpuštenog lanca.
Vezice za kabele
Kako bi osigurali vidljivije markere dužine lanca koja je u moru, vlasnici brodova posegnuli su za dva vrlo jednostavna i praktična rješenja koja se mogu kombinirati s plastičnim markerima ili koristiti samostalno.
Riječ je, naime, o tome da se na desetome metru lanca na jednu kariku veže čvor tankim konopom žive boje, pri čemu se njegovi krajevi ostave dugima.

Na dvadesetom metru vežu se dva takva čvora u razmaku od desetak centimetara, na tridesetom tri..., što u konačnici omogućava kormilaru da lako kontrolira otpušteni lanac čak i ako je u kabini. Krajevi čvora koji prolaze dok se lanac ispušta dovoljno su, naime, vidljivi i s nekoliko metara udaljenosti.
Suvremenija inačica istog načina označavanja sidrenog lanca je korištenje popularnih vezica za kabele koje se danas mogu kupiti u raznim bojama, pa i onim vrlo živima, poput žute, crvene, jarkozelene...

Njih je još lakše učvrstiti na karike lanca na određenim kontrolnim točkama, a također i lako uočiti ako im se krajevi nakon zatezanja ne podrežu, nego se ostave kao signalni rep.
Potonje dvije metode označavanja jednako se lako i uspješno mogu koristiti i kad se za sidrenje koristi konop.
Recimo na kraju da je za kormilara najvažnije da lako i brzo procijeni koliko je sidrenog lanca otpustio, u čemu mu sve spomenute metode mogu pomoći, a svatko može izabrati onu koja mu se čini najboljom, ili pak kombinirati više njih.
