Dva neovisna tima iz Francuske i Švicarske izrađuju inovativne jedrilice u namjeri da samo uporabom snage vjetra obore brzinski rekord na moru.

Podsjetimo se, prošlo je već osam godina od postizanja starog rekorda, priznatog od World Sailing Speed Record Councila, koji od studenoga 2012. drži Australac Paul Larsen. On je tada s Vestas Sailrocketom u Južnom Atlantiku blizu Namibije dosegnuo 65,45 čvorova, odnosno 121 km/h.

Francuzi i Švicarci sada žele biti brži od Larsena i najavljuju da im je cilj napraviti najbržu jedrilicu na svijetu i dosegnuti 80 čvorova, odnosno 150 km/h. Obje ekipe već uvelike ozbiljno rade na dva slična jedriličarska koncepta i, naravno, nastoje biti brži od konkurencije.

Syroco iz tri dijela

Vođa francuskog tima Syroco iz Marseillea je Alex Caizergues (41), iskusni jedriličar i ljubitelj rekorda koji je 2010. postao prvi čovjek koji je samo uz pomoć vjetra prošao granicu od 100 km/h.

Svakako treba napomenuti da je on četverostruki prvak svijeta u kite speed surfingu, zbog čega se njihova jedrilica Syroco bazira na konceptu jedra postavljenog visoko u zraku. Preciznije, treba kazati da su Francuzi zamislili plovilo iz tri dijela. Prvi predstavlja veliko leteće kite jedro, drugi je aerodinamični trup, dok je treći fleksibilno hidrokrilo, koje u brzini jedino dodiruje more.

Najprikladniji naziv za 6 metara dugi trup Syroca je kapsula. Naime, trup više nalikuje malom zrakoplovu ili ribi nego brodu, i on će zapravo lebdjeti iznad morske površine. U njoj će sjediti dvije osobe, pri čemu je jedna zadužena za upravljanje jedrom, a druga za pomično hidrokrilo, preko kojeg se održavaju stabilnost i pravac.

Pokušat će 2022. godine

- Dizajn Syroca je rezultat proširenog istraživanja u područjima aerodinamike i fizike fluida, a iskreno se nadam da će takvo rješenje jednog dana unijeti revoluciju i na drugim vrstama plovila - kaže Caizergues.

Prije pokušaja obaranja rekorda, predviđenog početkom 2022. godine, Francuzi će izraditi manju, detaljnu repliku Syroca, kojom će upravljati radiovezom i proučavati kako se ponaša na moru. Što se tiče financija neophodnih ovom speed projektu, one ekipi iz Marseillea neće manjkati s obzirom da iza njih stoje investitori iz Francuske i Silicijske doline.

SP80 je švicarska morska Formula 1

Rivali Francuzima u utrci za brzinskim rekordom su Švicarci, okupljeni u timu École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne. Predvode ih glavni inženjer Xavier Lepercq, projektni menadžer Mayeul van den Broek, te kitesurfer Benoit Gaudiot i njegov brat, inženjer Thomas Gaudiot.

Švicarska jedrilica SP80 je malo manje vizualno spektakularna u odnosu na Syroco. Također će imati aerodinamični trup poput zrakoplova, ali u brzini neće poput kiteboarda lebdjeti iznad morske površine već će ploviti na tri točke - sprijeda na dva hidrokrila uz kormilo na krmi.

Naravno, tu je i leteće jedro sa strane, koje pokreće ovu švicarsku morsku Formulu 1. Za razliku od Francuza, Švicarci ne žele inicirati revoluciju uporabe snage vjetra u pomorstvu, nego ih isključivo zanima postizanje brzine veće od 150 km/h. U Lausanni znaju jako dobro da francuski rivali napreduju sa Syrocom, ali smatraju da će ipak oni biti prvi koji će probiti barijeru od 80 čvorova.

Usput rečeno, neki stručnjaci misle da specijalni projekti Syroco i SP80 predstavljaju jedriličarske dizajnerske iznimke i služe samo za dosezanje rekorda, poput Spirit of America, Thrust ili Blue Flame specijalnih automobila koji su svojevremeno bili napravljeni isključivo za cestovne rekorde. Tim sportom se mogu baviti samo vrlo bogate zemlje, ali korist od toga imaju istraživači iz cijeloga svijeta.

Dva neovisna tima iz Francuske i Švicarske izrađuju inovativne jedrilice u namjeri da samo uporabom snage vjetra obore brzinski rekord na moru.

Podsjetimo se, prošlo je već osam godina od postizanja starog rekorda, priznatog od World Sailing Speed Record Councila, koji od studenoga 2012. drži Australac Paul Larsen. On je tada s Vestas Sailrocketom u Južnom Atlantiku blizu Namibije dosegnuo 65,45 čvorova, odnosno 121 km/h.

Francuzi i Švicarci sada žele biti brži od Larsena i najavljuju da im je cilj napraviti najbržu jedrilicu na svijetu i dosegnuti 80 čvorova, odnosno 150 km/h. Obje ekipe već uvelike ozbiljno rade na dva slična jedriličarska koncepta i, naravno, nastoje biti brži od konkurencije.

Syroco iz tri dijela

Vođa francuskog tima Syroco iz Marseillea je Alex Caizergues (41), iskusni jedriličar i ljubitelj rekorda koji je 2010. postao prvi čovjek koji je samo uz pomoć vjetra prošao granicu od 100 km/h.

Svakako treba napomenuti da je on četverostruki prvak svijeta u kite speed surfingu, zbog čega se njihova jedrilica Syroco bazira na konceptu jedra postavljenog visoko u zraku. Preciznije, treba kazati da su Francuzi zamislili plovilo iz tri dijela. Prvi predstavlja veliko leteće kite jedro, drugi je aerodinamični trup, dok je treći fleksibilno hidrokrilo, koje u brzini jedino dodiruje more.

Najprikladniji naziv za 6 metara dugi trup Syroca je kapsula. Naime, trup više nalikuje malom zrakoplovu ili ribi nego brodu, i on će zapravo lebdjeti iznad morske površine. U njoj će sjediti dvije osobe, pri čemu je jedna zadužena za upravljanje jedrom, a druga za pomično hidrokrilo, preko kojeg se održavaju stabilnost i pravac.

Pokušat će 2022. godine

- Dizajn Syroca je rezultat proširenog istraživanja u područjima aerodinamike i fizike fluida, a iskreno se nadam da će takvo rješenje jednog dana unijeti revoluciju i na drugim vrstama plovila - kaže Caizergues.

Prije pokušaja obaranja rekorda, predviđenog početkom 2022. godine, Francuzi će izraditi manju, detaljnu repliku Syroca, kojom će upravljati radiovezom i proučavati kako se ponaša na moru. Što se tiče financija neophodnih ovom speed projektu, one ekipi iz Marseillea neće manjkati s obzirom da iza njih stoje investitori iz Francuske i Silicijske doline.

SP80 je švicarska morska Formula 1

Rivali Francuzima u utrci za brzinskim rekordom su Švicarci, okupljeni u timu École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne. Predvode ih glavni inženjer Xavier Lepercq, projektni menadžer Mayeul van den Broek, te kitesurfer Benoit Gaudiot i njegov brat, inženjer Thomas Gaudiot.

Švicarska jedrilica SP80 je malo manje vizualno spektakularna u odnosu na Syroco. Također će imati aerodinamični trup poput zrakoplova, ali u brzini neće poput kiteboarda lebdjeti iznad morske površine već će ploviti na tri točke - sprijeda na dva hidrokrila uz kormilo na krmi.

Naravno, tu je i leteće jedro sa strane, koje pokreće ovu švicarsku morsku Formulu 1. Za razliku od Francuza, Švicarci ne žele inicirati revoluciju uporabe snage vjetra u pomorstvu, nego ih isključivo zanima postizanje brzine veće od 150 km/h. U Lausanni znaju jako dobro da francuski rivali napreduju sa Syrocom, ali smatraju da će ipak oni biti prvi koji će probiti barijeru od 80 čvorova.

Usput rečeno, neki stručnjaci misle da specijalni projekti Syroco i SP80 predstavljaju jedriličarske dizajnerske iznimke i služe samo za dosezanje rekorda, poput Spirit of America, Thrust ili Blue Flame specijalnih automobila koji su svojevremeno bili napravljeni isključivo za cestovne rekorde. Tim sportom se mogu baviti samo vrlo bogate zemlje, ali korist od toga imaju istraživači iz cijeloga svijeta.
