Istraživači iz Dječje bolnice u Los Angelesu otkrili su u novoj studiji može li zamjena šećera zaslađivačima pomoći u borbi protiv nealkoholnog steatohepatitisa, bolesti poznate kao "masna jetra".

U skoroj budućnosti jedan od glavnih razloga transplantacije jetre bit će upravo njezina zamašćenost.

Nova istraživanja provedena na miševima pokazala su da ekstrakt stevije može to spriječiti. Nealkoholni steatohepatitis odnosi se na jetru u kojoj je više od pet posto masti.

Trenutačno ne postoji lijek za ono što može dovesti do ciroze ili čak karcinoma jetre. Iako su razlozi nastanka masne jetre još uvijek nejasni, faktori rizika su pretilost i konzumiranje velike količine šećera.

Testiranje rješenja

Istraživači iz Dječje bolnice u Los Angelesu otkrili su u novoj studiji može li zamjena šećera zaslađivačima pomoći u borbi protiv nealkoholnog steatohepatitisa, bolesti poznate kao "masna jetra".

U skoroj budućnosti jedan od glavnih razloga transplantacije jetre bit će upravo njezina zamašćenost.

Nova istraživanja provedena na miševima pokazala su da ekstrakt stevije može to spriječiti. Nealkoholni steatohepatitis odnosi se na jetru u kojoj je više od pet posto masti.

Trenutačno ne postoji lijek za ono što može dovesti do ciroze ili čak karcinoma jetre. Iako su razlozi nastanka masne jetre još uvijek nejasni, faktori rizika su pretilost i konzumiranje velike količine šećera.

Činjenica je da se sve više masne jetre javlja kod djece, a liječnici to nazivaju dječjom nealkoholnom masnom jetrom.

Nova studija američkih znanstvenika otkrila je da zamjena šećera zaslađivačima može pomoći u borbi protiv ove bolesti.

Konkretno, ekstrakt stevije, kalorični zaslađivač koji je dvjesto puta slađi od šećera, može smanjiti markere masne jetre. Otkrića su objavljena u znanstvenom časopisu Scientific Reports.

Konzumiranje prevelikih količina šećera šteti jetri, što je odavno poznato. Ali može li upotreba zaslađivača smanjiti rizik od razvoja bolesti, pitali su se istraživači. Ovo je prva studija koja je istražila povezanost zaslađivača i bolesti jetre.

Testiranje rješenja

Istraživači su stavili pod povećalo dvije vrste zaslađivača: umjetni zaslađivač sukralozu i steviju, prirodni zaslađivač iz biljke stevije.

Oba zaslađivača često se koriste u raznim pićima i namirnicama.

"Zanimali su nas ovi zaslađivači jer su najnoviji i najmanje istraženi u vezi s masnom jetrom", objasnio je dr. Rohit Kohli, autor studije i voditelj Odjela gastroenterologije, hepatologije i prehrane.

U ovoj studiji šećer je zamijenjen jednim od spomenutih sladila u prehrani miševa koji su imali masnu jetru. Iako je sukraloza pozitivno utjecala na gušteraču, nije otkrivena nikakva korist za jetru.

No, otkrili su mnoge prednosti u korištenju stevije.

Istraživači iz Dječje bolnice u Los Angelesu otkrili su u novoj studiji može li zamjena šećera zaslađivačima pomoći u borbi protiv nealkoholnog steatohepatitisa, bolesti poznate kao "masna jetra".

U skoroj budućnosti jedan od glavnih razloga transplantacije jetre bit će upravo njezina zamašćenost.

Nova istraživanja provedena na miševima pokazala su da ekstrakt stevije može to spriječiti. Nealkoholni steatohepatitis odnosi se na jetru u kojoj je više od pet posto masti.

Trenutačno ne postoji lijek za ono što može dovesti do ciroze ili čak karcinoma jetre. Iako su razlozi nastanka masne jetre još uvijek nejasni, faktori rizika su pretilost i konzumiranje velike količine šećera.
