Pitate li kupce u samoposluživanjima znaju li gdje i kako raste te kakvo stablo ima ananas, gotovo nitko neće znati. Budući da je riječ o tropskom voću, mnogima će prva asocijacija biti palme, banane i tko zna kakvo sve slično raslinje tamo negdje daleko koje daje ovaj neobičan, slikovit i sočan plod. Ali, nije riječ ni o kakvim palmama, osim što grm ove biljke oblikom podsjeća na nisku palmicu zbog raspojasanih listova kakve ima svaka palma.
Oblikom, anansov grm na prvu podsjeća na grm artičoke. Visina grma je oko 60 centimetara, ali uski dugi listovi mogu narasti i do dva metra.

U Europu je stigao iz Brazila, a domovina ananasa je visoravan Mato Grosso, smještena između Paragvaja i Brazila. No, ananasu godi i ekvatorijalna klima pa uspješno raste u zoni Srednje Amerike, Azije..., ali i u Australiji i Africi.
Uzgoj u stakleniku
Svijetom je ananas počeo putovati prije tristotinjak godina, plantaža ima sve više, trgovina ovim voćem je sve organiziranija, pa se i kod nas već nekoliko godina ananas može kupiti bez rizika da će unutra biti nedozreo ili truo. Gotovo svaki će biti sočan i sladak, osim ako baš u dućanu posegnete za primjerkom na akciji. Onda je to neizvjesna lutrija, a ananas može biti prezreo i nejestiv.

Ananas se može uzgojiti i kao sobna biljka, a ima i raznih novih metoda uzgoja. Jedna zanimljiva primjenjuje se u Emiratima, biljke se uzgajaju u stakleniku u pustinji Al-Awir, u zaljevskom emiratu Dubai.
Tamošnji biznismen Abdulatif Al-Ban, koji je inače trgovac nekretninama, kako piše The National News, noći provodi u stakleniku i brine se o tisućama ananasa. U svibnju ubire plodove, a ove godine ih je ubrao oko 4000 komada. Uzgaja ih hidroponski - bez zemlje i korištenjem hranjivih otopina na bazi vode. I tvrdi da su njegovi ananasi najslađi na svijetu. Takve nije nikad i nigdje imao priliku kušati.

Na pustinjskom suncu
Farma je osnovana 2005. godine za uzgoj datulja, ali prije deset godina Al- Ban odlučio je eksperimentirati s ananasima i pronaći način da osigura njihov uspjeh u izazovnoj pustinjskoj klimi UAE-a. Najprije je počeo s 300 biljaka, posadio ih na otvorenom na pustinjskom suncu, u sjeni drveća i treće u stakleniku, a ovi potonji bili su najslađi.

Abdulatif Al-Ban nada se da njegova farma može potaknuti ljude na razmišljanje o sigurnosti hrane. Tvrdi da bi svaki čovjek danas morao ponešto znati o uzgoju hrane za sebe s obzirom da budućnost klimatski može biti izazovna.
- Mislim da postoji mogućnost za uzgoj ananasa u svakoj kući. Možemo napraviti… staklenik u svakom stanu. Možemo imati biljke i pobrinuti se za njihovo održavanje tijekom cijele godine, uvjeren je ovaj emiratski vizionar.
Možda nije loša ideja, zar ne?

Pitate li kupce u samoposluživanjima znaju li gdje i kako raste te kakvo stablo ima ananas, gotovo nitko neće znati. Budući da je riječ o tropskom voću, mnogima će prva asocijacija biti palme, banane i tko zna kakvo sve slično raslinje tamo negdje daleko koje daje ovaj neobičan, slikovit i sočan plod. Ali, nije riječ ni o kakvim palmama, osim što grm ove biljke oblikom podsjeća na nisku palmicu zbog raspojasanih listova kakve ima svaka palma.
Oblikom, anansov grm na prvu podsjeća na grm artičoke. Visina grma je oko 60 centimetara, ali uski dugi listovi mogu narasti i do dva metra.

U Europu je stigao iz Brazila, a domovina ananasa je visoravan Mato Grosso, smještena između Paragvaja i Brazila. No, ananasu godi i ekvatorijalna klima pa uspješno raste u zoni Srednje Amerike, Azije..., ali i u Australiji i Africi.
Uzgoj u stakleniku
Svijetom je ananas počeo putovati prije tristotinjak godina, plantaža ima sve više, trgovina ovim voćem je sve organiziranija, pa se i kod nas već nekoliko godina ananas može kupiti bez rizika da će unutra biti nedozreo ili truo. Gotovo svaki će biti sočan i sladak, osim ako baš u dućanu posegnete za primjerkom na akciji. Onda je to neizvjesna lutrija, a ananas može biti prezreo i nejestiv.

Ananas se može uzgojiti i kao sobna biljka, a ima i raznih novih metoda uzgoja. Jedna zanimljiva primjenjuje se u Emiratima, biljke se uzgajaju u stakleniku u pustinji Al-Awir, u zaljevskom emiratu Dubai.
Tamošnji biznismen Abdulatif Al-Ban, koji je inače trgovac nekretninama, kako piše The National News, noći provodi u stakleniku i brine se o tisućama ananasa. U svibnju ubire plodove, a ove godine ih je ubrao oko 4000 komada. Uzgaja ih hidroponski - bez zemlje i korištenjem hranjivih otopina na bazi vode. I tvrdi da su njegovi ananasi najslađi na svijetu. Takve nije nikad i nigdje imao priliku kušati.

Na pustinjskom suncu
Farma je osnovana 2005. godine za uzgoj datulja, ali prije deset godina Al- Ban odlučio je eksperimentirati s ananasima i pronaći način da osigura njihov uspjeh u izazovnoj pustinjskoj klimi UAE-a. Najprije je počeo s 300 biljaka, posadio ih na otvorenom na pustinjskom suncu, u sjeni drveća i treće u stakleniku, a ovi potonji bili su najslađi.

Abdulatif Al-Ban nada se da njegova farma može potaknuti ljude na razmišljanje o sigurnosti hrane. Tvrdi da bi svaki čovjek danas morao ponešto znati o uzgoju hrane za sebe s obzirom da budućnost klimatski može biti izazovna.
- Mislim da postoji mogućnost za uzgoj ananasa u svakoj kući. Možemo napraviti… staklenik u svakom stanu. Možemo imati biljke i pobrinuti se za njihovo održavanje tijekom cijele godine, uvjeren je ovaj emiratski vizionar.
Možda nije loša ideja, zar ne?
