"Toskana je romantična idila." – "Talijanska priča" (2021.)

Kišni i buroviti dani vapili su za tračkom toplog toskanskog sunca koje sija u filmu "Talijanska priča" ("Made In Italy"). Splićani su se, tako, od hladnog vjetra mogli skloniti u toplo kino i ugrijati se pod suncem Toskane. Svakome tko je iz tih pobuda ušao u dvoranu na "Talijansku priču", novi i, za promjenu, neakcijski film s Liamom Neesonom u glavnoj ulozi ne bi trebao biti loše gledateljsko iskustvo.

Ipak, tko je od njega očekivao nešto više od tople rom-com razglednice, (romantičnu) dramu autentičnih emocija, mogao se blago razočarati. "Made In Italy" je "na papiru" djelovao upravo tako – autentično.

Jer, Neeson i njegov stvarni sin Micheál Richardson glumce otuđenog oca i sina Roberta i Jacka, a odlaze u Toskanu prodati obiteljsku kuću pokojne supruge/majke koja je stradala u prometnoj nesreći prije desetak godina, da bi se usput tamo pokušali zajedno nositi s neprežaljenim gubitkom bliske osobe i zbližiti.

Kao što vjerojatno znate, Liamova supruga i Micheálova majka, glumica Natasha Richardson, stradala je u nesreći na skijanju, i to 2009. godine. Smrt kćerke Vanesse Redgrave u dobi od samo 45 godina, poznate po ulogama u prvoj "Sluškinjinoj priči", "Iza ponoći", "Zamki za roditelje", "Bijeloj grofici", "Buntovnici u internatu", ali i "Nell", na snimanju koje se upoznala s Neesonom, bila je šok za njezine bližnje, pa i javnost s obzirom koliko je Natasha isijavala toplinu i bila draga osoba.

Dakle, Neeson i Richardson su proživjeli sličnu nesreću u stvarnosti kao i njihovi likovi u filmu. Tragična metafilmska strujanja su očita, no nisu nažalost rezultirala nečim dramski posebnim, na način da se osjećaj tragedije i tuge u cijelosti nastanio s ove strane ekrana, osim u jednom snažnom zagrljaju oca i sina.

Čini se da redateljski i scenaristički debitant, britanski karakterni glumac James D'Arcy ("Gospodar i ratnik", "Romansa stoljeća", "Atlas oblaka", "Dunkirk"), nije to znao prenijeti u svom prvom režijskom filmu, možda i zato što se najvećim dijelom oslanjao na glumački neiskusnog i neuvjerljivog Richardsona, a ne veterana Neesona.

Shvatljivo je, naravno, zašto su Neeson i Richardson prihvatili "Made In Italy". Bila je to prilika da za radni godišnji odmor u Italiji iz savršene turističke brošure, da zajednički prođu (meta)filmsku psihoterapiju i probaju suncem još jednom, možda i posljednji put, razgrnuti emotivne oblake koji im zasigurno još uvijek lebde nad glavom i liju kišu tuge.

Simbolika je prisutna na svakom koraku, počevši od zapuštene kuće kojoj je Robert "dopustio da se raspadne", poput odnosa (filmskog) oca i sina. No, Neeson je u "Talijanskoj priči" svjesno zakoračio u drugi plan, kako bi dao priliku sinu da iskorači u prvi i nametne se kao dobar glumac ili mlada zvijezda u usponu, nakon što je imao malu ulogu u očevoj "Hladnoj osveti". Richardson, nažalost, nije iskoristio priliku i prilično je drven u interakcijama s Neesonom i drugim glumcima.

Kad Jack kaže "Mislim da ne znam kako tugovati", njegove riječi se mogu prenijeti na Richardsona. Mladiću ne pomaže mu ni jednodimenzionalni lik friško razvedenog voditelja londonske art galerije koju njegova bivša namjerava prodati, zbog čega on želi iskoristiti novac od obiteljske kuće da je otkupi.

Kemija oca i sina jedva da se osjeti, kao i Jackova kemija s lokalnom ženom Natalijom (krasna Valeria Bilello) s kojom bi mogao ostvariti romansu i hoće budući da D'Arcy kombinira (romantičnu) dramu i rom-com. Problem je i što su žanrovi neujednačeno spareni, a "romu" nedostaje pravog "coma" i obratno. D'Arcy još nekako i uspijeva (o)držati dramu na okupu, posebice kad mu se u kadru nalazi Neeson, čije se emocije mogu napipati.

Glumac se uživio sretan što može opet rastezati pomalo zakržljale dramske mišiće nakon desetak godina nastupanja većinski u akcijskim trilerima tipa "96 sati", "Ukradeni identitet", "Opstanak", "96 sati: Istanbul", "Non Stop", "Noćna potjera", "96 sati: U bijegu", "Putnik", "Pokajnik", "Zaštitnik" i "Ledena cesta", uz rijetki dramski izuzetak poput "Šutnje" i "Sasvim obične ljubavi".

Međutim, rom-com je, lišen šarma, slaba točka filma, mimo toga što je "Made In Italy" lijepo snimljen i Toskana zove na turistički posjet kao "romantična idila" za večeru s domaćim specijalitetima i crvenim vinom, jazz svirkom i kinom na otvorenom ("I basilischi" Line Wertmüller).

Odnosno, slabom točkom ga čini Richardson. Bilello je zaljubljiva i zaigrana; s nekim drugim glumcem, čak i Keanuom Reevesom, "Talijanska priča" je mogla postati "Šetnja u oblacima", jer to je načelno taj tip romantično-dramskog "feel good" filma, ili barem "Dobra godina" s Russellom Croweom, ali ništa od toga. Šetnja po Toskani ne doseže oblake u "Made In Italy".

Lindsay Duncan kao agentica za nekretnine

Zapaženu sporednu ulogu agentice za nekretnine odigrala je Lindsay Duncan ("Birdman"), a pohvalno je da njezin lik ne ostvaruje romansu s Robertom, bar ne do kraja odjavne špice, možda iza nje.

"Toskana je romantična idila." – "Talijanska priča" (2021.)

Kišni i buroviti dani vapili su za tračkom toplog toskanskog sunca koje sija u filmu "Talijanska priča" ("Made In Italy"). Splićani su se, tako, od hladnog vjetra mogli skloniti u toplo kino i ugrijati se pod suncem Toskane. Svakome tko je iz tih pobuda ušao u dvoranu na "Talijansku priču", novi i, za promjenu, neakcijski film s Liamom Neesonom u glavnoj ulozi ne bi trebao biti loše gledateljsko iskustvo.

Ipak, tko je od njega očekivao nešto više od tople rom-com razglednice, (romantičnu) dramu autentičnih emocija, mogao se blago razočarati. "Made In Italy" je "na papiru" djelovao upravo tako – autentično.

Jer, Neeson i njegov stvarni sin Micheál Richardson glumce otuđenog oca i sina Roberta i Jacka, a odlaze u Toskanu prodati obiteljsku kuću pokojne supruge/majke koja je stradala u prometnoj nesreći prije desetak godina, da bi se usput tamo pokušali zajedno nositi s neprežaljenim gubitkom bliske osobe i zbližiti.

Kao što vjerojatno znate, Liamova supruga i Micheálova majka, glumica Natasha Richardson, stradala je u nesreći na skijanju, i to 2009. godine. Smrt kćerke Vanesse Redgrave u dobi od samo 45 godina, poznate po ulogama u prvoj "Sluškinjinoj priči", "Iza ponoći", "Zamki za roditelje", "Bijeloj grofici", "Buntovnici u internatu", ali i "Nell", na snimanju koje se upoznala s Neesonom, bila je šok za njezine bližnje, pa i javnost s obzirom koliko je Natasha isijavala toplinu i bila draga osoba.

Dakle, Neeson i Richardson su proživjeli sličnu nesreću u stvarnosti kao i njihovi likovi u filmu. Tragična metafilmska strujanja su očita, no nisu nažalost rezultirala nečim dramski posebnim, na način da se osjećaj tragedije i tuge u cijelosti nastanio s ove strane ekrana, osim u jednom snažnom zagrljaju oca i sina.

Čini se da redateljski i scenaristički debitant, britanski karakterni glumac James D'Arcy ("Gospodar i ratnik", "Romansa stoljeća", "Atlas oblaka", "Dunkirk"), nije to znao prenijeti u svom prvom režijskom filmu, možda i zato što se najvećim dijelom oslanjao na glumački neiskusnog i neuvjerljivog Richardsona, a ne veterana Neesona.

Shvatljivo je, naravno, zašto su Neeson i Richardson prihvatili "Made In Italy". Bila je to prilika da za radni godišnji odmor u Italiji iz savršene turističke brošure, da zajednički prođu (meta)filmsku psihoterapiju i probaju suncem još jednom, možda i posljednji put, razgrnuti emotivne oblake koji im zasigurno još uvijek lebde nad glavom i liju kišu tuge.

Simbolika je prisutna na svakom koraku, počevši od zapuštene kuće kojoj je Robert "dopustio da se raspadne", poput odnosa (filmskog) oca i sina. No, Neeson je u "Talijanskoj priči" svjesno zakoračio u drugi plan, kako bi dao priliku sinu da iskorači u prvi i nametne se kao dobar glumac ili mlada zvijezda u usponu, nakon što je imao malu ulogu u očevoj "Hladnoj osveti". Richardson, nažalost, nije iskoristio priliku i prilično je drven u interakcijama s Neesonom i drugim glumcima.

Kad Jack kaže "Mislim da ne znam kako tugovati", njegove riječi se mogu prenijeti na Richardsona. Mladiću ne pomaže mu ni jednodimenzionalni lik friško razvedenog voditelja londonske art galerije koju njegova bivša namjerava prodati, zbog čega on želi iskoristiti novac od obiteljske kuće da je otkupi.

Kemija oca i sina jedva da se osjeti, kao i Jackova kemija s lokalnom ženom Natalijom (krasna Valeria Bilello) s kojom bi mogao ostvariti romansu i hoće budući da D'Arcy kombinira (romantičnu) dramu i rom-com. Problem je i što su žanrovi neujednačeno spareni, a "romu" nedostaje pravog "coma" i obratno. D'Arcy još nekako i uspijeva (o)držati dramu na okupu, posebice kad mu se u kadru nalazi Neeson, čije se emocije mogu napipati.

Glumac se uživio sretan što može opet rastezati pomalo zakržljale dramske mišiće nakon desetak godina nastupanja većinski u akcijskim trilerima tipa "96 sati", "Ukradeni identitet", "Opstanak", "96 sati: Istanbul", "Non Stop", "Noćna potjera", "96 sati: U bijegu", "Putnik", "Pokajnik", "Zaštitnik" i "Ledena cesta", uz rijetki dramski izuzetak poput "Šutnje" i "Sasvim obične ljubavi".

Međutim, rom-com je, lišen šarma, slaba točka filma, mimo toga što je "Made In Italy" lijepo snimljen i Toskana zove na turistički posjet kao "romantična idila" za večeru s domaćim specijalitetima i crvenim vinom, jazz svirkom i kinom na otvorenom ("I basilischi" Line Wertmüller).

Odnosno, slabom točkom ga čini Richardson. Bilello je zaljubljiva i zaigrana; s nekim drugim glumcem, čak i Keanuom Reevesom, "Talijanska priča" je mogla postati "Šetnja u oblacima", jer to je načelno taj tip romantično-dramskog "feel good" filma, ili barem "Dobra godina" s Russellom Croweom, ali ništa od toga. Šetnja po Toskani ne doseže oblake u "Made In Italy".

Lindsay Duncan kao agentica za nekretnine

Zapaženu sporednu ulogu agentice za nekretnine odigrala je Lindsay Duncan ("Birdman"), a pohvalno je da njezin lik ne ostvaruje romansu s Robertom, bar ne do kraja odjavne špice, možda iza nje.
