Pod direktnim utjecajem Lyneove "Kobne privlačnosti" nastao je još uvijek iznadprosječni i prilično efektni psihotriler "Ruka koja njiše kolijevku" ("The Hand That Rocks The Cradle", 1992.). Film je nedvojbeni potomak "Fatal Atraction", a dadilja Peyton Flanders u tumačenju Rebecce De Mornay ("Riskantan posao", "Pomahnitali vlak") djeluje kao svojevrsna kći ili nećakinja ljubavnice iz pakla Alex Forrest.

Upravo je "Ruka koja njiše kolijevku" prometnula koncept "Kobne privlačnosti" kao trend devedesetih i bila prva od najmanje tri trilera takvog kompulzivno gledljivog tipa iz 1992. godine ("Policajac bez kontrole", "Oglas donosi smrt"), preuzevši štafetu od Scorseseova remakea "Rta straha".

Debitantska scenaristica Amanda Sliver, kasnije poznata po scenarijima za "Planet majmuna: Postanak", "Jurski svijet" i "Mulan", najveću je inspiraciju crpila iz scene kad se "druga žena" Alex infiltrira u obitelj oženjenog muškarca Dana Gallaghera s kojim je imala aferu i pijucka čaj s njegovom suprugom, glumeći da je došla razgledati njihov stan stavljen na prodaju.

Redatelj Curtis Hanson ("Divlja rijeka", "L.A. povjerljivo"), tadašnji specijalist za hičkokovske trilere poput "Prozora spavaće sobe", rastegnuo je tu scenu na cjelovečernjak i na laganoj vatrici kuhao psihotrilerske tenzije. Peyton se u Hansonovu filmu integrira kao dadilja u familiju Bartel, još idealniju od obitelji Gallagher, s osvetničkom namjerom da je razori iznutra.

Naime, Peyton doznaje da je Claire Bartel (Annabella Sciorra; "Na teži način", "Cop Land") bila predvodnica nekolicine žena u tužbi protiv njezinog muža ginekologa zbog seksualnog zlostavljanja, što 30 godina kasnije izgleda kao najava #MeToo pokreta. Claire je doživjela neugodnost tijekom pregleda na početku filma i odlučila istupiti protiv ginekologa.

Ovaj je, suočen s tužbama i javno prozvan, izvršio samouobjstvo, nakon čega je trudna Peyton posljedično izgubila dijete i sposobnost da bude majka i ima vlastitu obitelj. Život joj je uništen i zato ona želi da Claire doživi nešto slično ljubomorna na nju i njezinu sretnu familiju, tj. da joj preotme muža Michaela (Matt McCoy), kćerkicu Emmu (Madeline Zima) i novorođenče kako bi kompenzirala vlastiti gubitak.

Budući da je osveta "jelo koje se servira hladno", Peyton se nigdje ne žuri i vješto skriva svoje pravo psihotično i manipulativno lice ispod maske idealne dadilje. Sliver i Hanson ubacuju Mary Poppins u triler devedesetih i pretvaraju je u negativku, sa sličnostima i razlikama u odnosu na "Fatal Attraction" ili "Cape Fear".

Ne računajući kratkotrajni ulazak u Danov dom, Alex je u "Kobnoj privlačnosti" bila uljez i promatrala (i razarala) obitelj mahom izvana, svjedočivši kroz prozor njihovoj sreći u trenucima kad je njegova kćerka dobila zeku i očajnički pokušavala infiltrirati se u familiju. S druge strane, Peyton promatra i razara Bartelove iznutra nakon što je uspjela njezina infiltracija u obiteljsko gnijezdo.

"Fatal Attraction" i "The Hand That Rocks The Cradle" (kao i "Rt straha", pa i "Terminator 2" iz tog perioda) dijele motiv familije u ugrozi, tj. pokušaja razaranja tradicionalne nuklearne obitelji od strane izvanjske prijetnje, ovdje u tijelu jedne moderne žene koja se ne uklapa u tradicijske kalupe, ali želi biti uklopljena i ukrasti nešto što sama nema, što je za feministice bilo dovoljno da filmove proglase antifeminističkim.

Zato ima smisla da će se Peyton najprije zakačiti s mentalno hendikepiranim majstorom Solomonom (Ernie Hudson; "Istjerivači duhova", "Vrana"), angažiranim da sagradi ogradu oko obiteljske kuće u snolikom predgrađu da "drži ljude podalje" od familije. Ljude poput nje, najgore noćne more svake ranjive majke, od astmatičarke Claire do onih u publici.

Ipak, za razliku od obitelji s očevima koji su počinili grijehe u Lyneovu i Scorseseovu trileru, familija Bartel nije grešna i ne zaslužuje biblijsku kaznu i iskupljenje za krivnju, iako se Peyton drži mantre "sve se vraća, sve se plaća". Da Claire nije doživjela seksualno zlostavljanje Peytoničina muža, ona ga ne bi tužila.

Scorseseov film je vrvio od biblijskih citata, dok Hansonov citira naslov pjesme Williama Rossa Wallacea iz 1865. napisane u čast majčinstva: "Ruka koja njiše kolijevku je ruka koja upravlja svijetom". Tu je i citat Marlene Craven (Julianne Moore, odlična u jednoj od prvih uloga), stare ljubavi i prijateljice Claireina muža, a glasi "Nikada ne dopusti privlačnoj ženi da preuzme moć u tvom domu, pazi na leđa".

Na privlačnost plavokose Peyton zamalo je pao i Michael kad ju je u gluho doba noći ugledao u spavaćici pokraj hladnjaka. Hitchcock bi radio čuda s hičkokovskom plavušom De Mornay, ali tko zna bi li joj dodijelio ulogu negativke kao Hanson koji vještom režijom suzbija suspenziju nevjerice u nekolicini scena i čini film apsorbirajućim gledateljskim iskustvom čak i kad se, poput "Kobne privlačnosti", pretvori u hororski triler s "bu" scenama i dadiljom iz pakla naoružanom lopatom.

Primjerice, Claire je pustila Peyton u svoj dom praktički s ulice, bez referencija i ugovorenog sastanka, tj. službenog razgovora za posao, samo na račun toga što je rekla da je izgubila dijete i muža u kratkom roku te da je posao dadilje najbliže tome da bude majka.

Unatoč tome što gledatelj, suprotno Claire, u startu zna tko je Peyton i naslućuje opasnosti, Hanson se trudi da njezini manipulatorski potezi ne budu predvidljivi dok sije sjeme razdora i okreće kćerku i supruga protiv Claire, pri čemu ima veliku pomoć u De Mornay i glumičinom dojmljivom dočaravanju promjene raspoloženja lika tragične prošlosti, od anđelice do vražice.

Dapače, neki Peytoničini postupci su pervezni i uznemirujući, tipa da potajice u sitne sate i preko dana doji Claireino dijete (Solomon će je uhvatiti u tom činu), nakon čega beba odbija mlijeko biološke majke. Uznemirujuć je i njezin monolog upućen Claire koja dolazi do zraka bez aparatića za astmu.

"Kad tvoj muž vodi ljubav s tobom, on vidi moje lice. Kad je tvoja beba gladna, moje grudi je hrane. Pogledaj se... jedva dišeš". To je objava rata i sve vodi ka finalnom sukobu dviju majki (biološke i zamjenske) oko familije, djece i kolijevke. Ruka koja njiše kolijevku je ruka koja upravlja svijetom.

De Mornay je nakon ovog filma glumila u još nekolicini trilera poput "Guilty As Sin" s Donom Johnsonom i "Never Talk To Strangers" s Antoniom Banderasom.

Pod direktnim utjecajem Lyneove "Kobne privlačnosti" nastao je još uvijek iznadprosječni i prilično efektni psihotriler "Ruka koja njiše kolijevku" ("The Hand That Rocks The Cradle", 1992.). Film je nedvojbeni potomak "Fatal Atraction", a dadilja Peyton Flanders u tumačenju Rebecce De Mornay ("Riskantan posao", "Pomahnitali vlak") djeluje kao svojevrsna kći ili nećakinja ljubavnice iz pakla Alex Forrest.

Upravo je "Ruka koja njiše kolijevku" prometnula koncept "Kobne privlačnosti" kao trend devedesetih i bila prva od najmanje tri trilera takvog kompulzivno gledljivog tipa iz 1992. godine ("Policajac bez kontrole", "Oglas donosi smrt"), preuzevši štafetu od Scorseseova remakea "Rta straha".

Debitantska scenaristica Amanda Sliver, kasnije poznata po scenarijima za "Planet majmuna: Postanak", "Jurski svijet" i "Mulan", najveću je inspiraciju crpila iz scene kad se "druga žena" Alex infiltrira u obitelj oženjenog muškarca Dana Gallaghera s kojim je imala aferu i pijucka čaj s njegovom suprugom, glumeći da je došla razgledati njihov stan stavljen na prodaju.

Redatelj Curtis Hanson ("Divlja rijeka", "L.A. povjerljivo"), tadašnji specijalist za hičkokovske trilere poput "Prozora spavaće sobe", rastegnuo je tu scenu na cjelovečernjak i na laganoj vatrici kuhao psihotrilerske tenzije. Peyton se u Hansonovu filmu integrira kao dadilja u familiju Bartel, još idealniju od obitelji Gallagher, s osvetničkom namjerom da je razori iznutra.

Naime, Peyton doznaje da je Claire Bartel (Annabella Sciorra; "Na teži način", "Cop Land") bila predvodnica nekolicine žena u tužbi protiv njezinog muža ginekologa zbog seksualnog zlostavljanja, što 30 godina kasnije izgleda kao najava #MeToo pokreta. Claire je doživjela neugodnost tijekom pregleda na početku filma i odlučila istupiti protiv ginekologa.

Ovaj je, suočen s tužbama i javno prozvan, izvršio samouobjstvo, nakon čega je trudna Peyton posljedično izgubila dijete i sposobnost da bude majka i ima vlastitu obitelj. Život joj je uništen i zato ona želi da Claire doživi nešto slično ljubomorna na nju i njezinu sretnu familiju, tj. da joj preotme muža Michaela (Matt McCoy), kćerkicu Emmu (Madeline Zima) i novorođenče kako bi kompenzirala vlastiti gubitak.

Budući da je osveta "jelo koje se servira hladno", Peyton se nigdje ne žuri i vješto skriva svoje pravo psihotično i manipulativno lice ispod maske idealne dadilje. Sliver i Hanson ubacuju Mary Poppins u triler devedesetih i pretvaraju je u negativku, sa sličnostima i razlikama u odnosu na "Fatal Attraction" ili "Cape Fear".

Ne računajući kratkotrajni ulazak u Danov dom, Alex je u "Kobnoj privlačnosti" bila uljez i promatrala (i razarala) obitelj mahom izvana, svjedočivši kroz prozor njihovoj sreći u trenucima kad je njegova kćerka dobila zeku i očajnički pokušavala infiltrirati se u familiju. S druge strane, Peyton promatra i razara Bartelove iznutra nakon što je uspjela njezina infiltracija u obiteljsko gnijezdo.

"Fatal Attraction" i "The Hand That Rocks The Cradle" (kao i "Rt straha", pa i "Terminator 2" iz tog perioda) dijele motiv familije u ugrozi, tj. pokušaja razaranja tradicionalne nuklearne obitelji od strane izvanjske prijetnje, ovdje u tijelu jedne moderne žene koja se ne uklapa u tradicijske kalupe, ali želi biti uklopljena i ukrasti nešto što sama nema, što je za feministice bilo dovoljno da filmove proglase antifeminističkim.

Zato ima smisla da će se Peyton najprije zakačiti s mentalno hendikepiranim majstorom Solomonom (Ernie Hudson; "Istjerivači duhova", "Vrana"), angažiranim da sagradi ogradu oko obiteljske kuće u snolikom predgrađu da "drži ljude podalje" od familije. Ljude poput nje, najgore noćne more svake ranjive majke, od astmatičarke Claire do onih u publici.

Ipak, za razliku od obitelji s očevima koji su počinili grijehe u Lyneovu i Scorseseovu trileru, familija Bartel nije grešna i ne zaslužuje biblijsku kaznu i iskupljenje za krivnju, iako se Peyton drži mantre "sve se vraća, sve se plaća". Da Claire nije doživjela seksualno zlostavljanje Peytoničina muža, ona ga ne bi tužila.

Scorseseov film je vrvio od biblijskih citata, dok Hansonov citira naslov pjesme Williama Rossa Wallacea iz 1865. napisane u čast majčinstva: "Ruka koja njiše kolijevku je ruka koja upravlja svijetom". Tu je i citat Marlene Craven (Julianne Moore, odlična u jednoj od prvih uloga), stare ljubavi i prijateljice Claireina muža, a glasi "Nikada ne dopusti privlačnoj ženi da preuzme moć u tvom domu, pazi na leđa".

Na privlačnost plavokose Peyton zamalo je pao i Michael kad ju je u gluho doba noći ugledao u spavaćici pokraj hladnjaka. Hitchcock bi radio čuda s hičkokovskom plavušom De Mornay, ali tko zna bi li joj dodijelio ulogu negativke kao Hanson koji vještom režijom suzbija suspenziju nevjerice u nekolicini scena i čini film apsorbirajućim gledateljskim iskustvom čak i kad se, poput "Kobne privlačnosti", pretvori u hororski triler s "bu" scenama i dadiljom iz pakla naoružanom lopatom.

Primjerice, Claire je pustila Peyton u svoj dom praktički s ulice, bez referencija i ugovorenog sastanka, tj. službenog razgovora za posao, samo na račun toga što je rekla da je izgubila dijete i muža u kratkom roku te da je posao dadilje najbliže tome da bude majka.

Unatoč tome što gledatelj, suprotno Claire, u startu zna tko je Peyton i naslućuje opasnosti, Hanson se trudi da njezini manipulatorski potezi ne budu predvidljivi dok sije sjeme razdora i okreće kćerku i supruga protiv Claire, pri čemu ima veliku pomoć u De Mornay i glumičinom dojmljivom dočaravanju promjene raspoloženja lika tragične prošlosti, od anđelice do vražice.

Dapače, neki Peytoničini postupci su pervezni i uznemirujući, tipa da potajice u sitne sate i preko dana doji Claireino dijete (Solomon će je uhvatiti u tom činu), nakon čega beba odbija mlijeko biološke majke. Uznemirujuć je i njezin monolog upućen Claire koja dolazi do zraka bez aparatića za astmu.

"Kad tvoj muž vodi ljubav s tobom, on vidi moje lice. Kad je tvoja beba gladna, moje grudi je hrane. Pogledaj se... jedva dišeš". To je objava rata i sve vodi ka finalnom sukobu dviju majki (biološke i zamjenske) oko familije, djece i kolijevke. Ruka koja njiše kolijevku je ruka koja upravlja svijetom.
